Snow Cream Recipe!

Hi everybunny! Well, I got lots of requests for the snow cream recipe that I mentioned on Monday. David's Mama use to make this when he was little. There were five kiddo's and not a lot of money for treats like ice cream. So she would make this. Here ya go!

Ingredients:
One big ol' bowl of clean snow
Evaporated milk (2 cans more or less)
Sugar (1 cup more or less)
Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon more or less)

David's Preparation Method:
  • Plaster face to window then jump up and down clapping your hands that it's snowing!
  • Shout loudly several times, Snow Cream! Snow Cream! Snow Cream!
  • Haul butt to the grocery store to purchase evaporated milk because the date on the other cans you hoarded from last year have expired.
  • Go outside and fill your big ol' bowl with clean snow from the preselected snow gathering area in the yard. (I'm not kidding)
  • Get giant mixing spoon and slowly poor evaporated milk into snow and continue stirring until snow looks like soft serve ice cream.
  • Stir in sugar according to the requirements of your sweet tooth.
  • Stir in vanilla extract according to the requirements of your sweet tooth.
  • Sit on couch with big ol' bowl and the giant mixing spoon you used to stir everything together with and eat your snow cream while grinning from ear to ear.
  • Eat entire bowl by yourself just daring someone to come near it.
  • Wash bowl and spoon, put coat back on, go back outside and start the process again.
  • Do this three times until you are ready to puke. (The snow won't last long here so ya gotta get it while the gett'in is good!)
Yes, I'm married to a 50 year old that still acts like he's 8. Now you know why he married my goofy, dorkwad self. ;)

Well what do ya know? We got snow! Oh and Presents!

Like lots of folks along the East Coast, we got snow! It snowed all day yesterday and looks so pretty! Now it needs to melt away because I'm freezing!

My house does look pretty though.

Did everyone have a Happy Christmas? I sure did and I wanted to share some presents I received.

My friend, Jade of Zen of Bun, made me this beautiful scarf with beads in it! I can wear it around my neck or use it as a belt! I'm so excited because according to my 6 year old, fashionista, niece, my wardrobe is soooooooo boring! Now when she says, "Auntie don't you even have a pretty belt or scarf?" I can whip this out and say, "heck ya baby!" hee, hee, hee.  Thanks Jade for making me cool again! Don't ya'll just love that bunny Christmas card? Sweet!

However, not as sweet as this bunny card! This is Jade's precious boy, Mickey. He signed the card especially for me, his Auntie Shell. :)

Then I got this fabulous calender. (you can purchase the calender at Bun Space)

Who's cutie photo should appear on my birthday month?

Yep! Mickey! How great is that!

Thanks so much Jade and Mickey for spoiling me with fabulous gifts! I love them and will treasure them always!

Have a fun day everyone! David is making his 3rd big batch of snow cream! Naughty, naughty, naughty! He's such a kid.

Happy Friday and Happy Christmas!

There once was a fuzzy, fair maiden.
Who's cottage was her haven.
She planted flowers at the window by the bunch.
Then one day ate them for lunch!

Ok..so I totally couldn't help myself with this! I crack myself up when I get a good photo. hee,hee,hee.
David said, "what Sugie's really saying is 'my mama is a total dorkwad!' Yeah, yeah, but it's still funny!

Happy Friday everyone! Happy Christmas too!
Wishing you all a magical time and may all your wishes come true!

Love to all and big hugs!

Gifts from the Heart

In June I took a novel writing class. It was sooooooo much fun as I love to write. While taking this class, I made a new friend. Her name is Donna French. I can't tell you why, but I knew just from the start that she was a really good person and I knew we would be friends. Not only is Donna a great writer, but she is also an incredible artist.

After months of us trying to get together for a visit, we finally got together last week. That's when Donna presented me with this.

She drew this beautiful picture of Sugie with my beloved Razzy boy that I lost in July. She captured them both so perfectly. Plus, the simplicity and beauty of a pencil drawing is something that I just adore! I have framed it and put it in my living room. I will treasure it always! Thank you so very much for this beautiful gift. Donna doesn't have a blog yet, but I want to encourage her!!! hint, hint, hint ;)

Then, in the mail, came a gift from my dear blogging friend, Di. Di is one of the sweetest blogging friends I have. She has had a really hard year with the loss of some of her close friends, health and family issues and yet, she still sent me presents.

Di knew I would go crazy over the scrolly stickers and she was right! She also made me a beautiful white ornament for my tree. Perfect! Plus, I have been curious about those schnibble patterns ever since I saw them on her blog. Too fun! I'm also a chronic list maker, so the note pad will come in extra handy. Thanks so much Di! I love everything!

My childhood was pretty crappy and there were many Christmases that I didn't get anything. Yet, I always enjoyed the giving, even if it was only something I could afford from my leaf raking job. I always believe that gifts from the heart are best as they are the true gifts.

All of you that follow me, leave me comments, send me emails and brighten my day with your blogs, are gifts from the heart. I treasure each and every one of you!

But, like I said, I enjoy giving so don't forget to register for my giveaway. I'll pick the winner tomorrow. Until then, thanks so much Donna and Di for your thoughtful, heartfelt gifts. I am spoiled indeed!

Happy Christmas everyone!

Monday Meeting - Jillayne of A Fine Seam

Good morning staff! Well, here we are only 5 day's before the big day. Are you ready yet? I'm down to figuring out what David and I will eat for Christmas Day. It's just the two of us this year, and we both are pretty simple about food, so I think I will make it easy. I'm thinking a roast in the crock pot for him and a vegetable risotto with goat cheese for me (I'm a vegetarian). My friend, Lyd, makes the best cookies ever so dessert is taken care of. Thanks Lyd!

Well, shall we start our meeting? Oh, this will also be the last meeting for this year. I believe in giving my staff a nice long Christmas break to spend time with their families. :)

This week I'm delighted to introduce you to my friend, Jillayne of A Fine Seam. Jillayne lives in Canada and is a quilter, stitcher, and crafter extraordinaire! She is an instructor at the local quilt shop, what she calls her "jobette," has an etsy shop and also has a fantastic craft sale once a year in her home!

Isn't this elf adorable! She made four of them for sale at the show. Of course they were sold quickly! Love those feet!

These two snow buddies all snuggled in a quilt together just melt my heart.

Of course ya'll know why I love this torn and woven stocking. (in case you're new to my blog, I love white!)

She also makes these Christmas Crackers. I thought this one was divine!

In the middle of getting ready for her show, she also painted and redecorated many of the rooms in her home. I thought I was the only one that did crazy things like that! hee, hee, hee. This is her swan quilt that now hangs in it's proper spot in her living room. I think it's perfect.

Hop over and visit with Jillayne and be inspired by all her beautiful creations. Tell her Shell and the bunnies said Hi!

Don't forget to register for my giveaway here. I'll pick the winner on Wednesday.
Have a beautiful week everyone. Stay warm unless you are in Australia and then stay cool. ;)
Meeting adjourned.

The End of our Sentimental Journey has arrived.

I can't believe we are here. I can't believe it has been twelve months already! I sure have had a really fun time and I hope you have too. Thank you very much to all of you that purchased floss kits from me. The bunnies and I truly appreciate your support!

I try to be positive and happy every day that I can. It's not always easy, so I thought it would be great to create something to look at that would help just a little.

This is the finished piece. I have hung it in Bunnyville. You can hop over to my Shop for the final directions. It's a pocket quilt. I plan on using mine as a type of organizer for the year. In each pocket I will put cards for people with birthday's that month. I'll put clippings, emails, photos and any other happy things that happen throughout the year. I'll also read the quotes when I feel like a need a little pick me up.

I have truly enjoyed sharing this journey with all of you. I hope you have had a fun time too! What was your favorite quote?

As promised, I wanted to have another giveaway. I've decided to give you some winter wishes and so the giveaway is my finished Winter Wishes Stitchery all ready to hang for the winter! Just leave a comment on this post. Those who are signed up as followers get two chances! Remember to say you're following! The winner will be selected next Wednesday, December 22. Good luck!

Don't forget, the patterns will be available until January 11th. On January 12th, our new BOM "12 of Hearts" will start.

Monday Meeting - Donna of Conghaile Cottage

Good morning staff! How was your weekend? Are you ready for the holiday festivities? Me...NOT! I did make 63 cards this weekend, packaged up over 23 packages and filled out the most custom's forms ever! Oy! Next year I will start in June, next year I will start in June, next year I will start in June! Remind me I said this! Tomorrow I will schlep everything to the post office and stand in line with all the other last minute ding dongs! hee, hee, hee, giggle, snort!

Ok, so let's get on with our meeting shall we?

This week I am delighted to introduce you to a new friend of mine, Donna of Conghaile Cottage. Conghaile is Gaelic for Connolly and you can pronounce it that way. Ok...so I thought that was totally cool and then....I saw the house!!!!!!!!! Ya'll know I go totally crazy bunny wonky over cute cottages right? Well HELLO!!!!!!!!!! Get a load of her house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breathe Shell, breathe....

I can't breathe! Check out the side door!!!! There's a swoopy roof and a round windows and cute little characters to greet you on the steps and..and...and...!!!  Her husband hand split all the wood for the roof!!!! Oh be still my heart...

When I first met Donna I asked her if the picture on her blog was her house because I was about to pass out over how incredible it was! I think I might pass out again just looking at these photos. Then I learned that Donna and her husband build one of a kind magical places like this! After 10 years in construction, I have the greatest appreciation for what goes into building a home. The work they do is 100 more times more intensive than anything I ever did. I would love to walk through their home and just soak it all in. Of course, I would probably never leave and they would have me arrested for stalking.

Then I learned that she is a bunny lover!!! She put these fabulous bunny dishes on her Christmas wish list. Sweet!
Donna also designs and keeps incredible gardens. Now that is something we don't have in common as I am a terrible gardener. Although, I do enjoy garden viewing, tea and wine in the garden, bunnies in the garden, garden smells... so maybe that counts? hee, hee, hee.

Hop over and visit with Donna. She blogs about many beautiful and enchanting things. I know you will enjoy your stay. Tell her Shell and the bunnies said hi!

Have a fun and magical week everyone. And oh, by they way, I appreciate you visiting with me so very much! You are a most excellent staff! (Di it was so fantastic to chat with you live and hear your voice!)

Meeting adjourned.

Baby Hare ornaments in White!!!! They are perfect for my tree and have settled right in.

A beautiful handmade card of her original art on gorgeous paper.

A bookmark that will come in most handy and a darling postcard featuring the lovely Arabella bunny.

And a fun, handmade, card filled with words of friendship.
Thank you so very much Annette! I looooooooooove everything! And yes, I did the happy bunny dance!

Annette has an etsy shop and you can purchase some fantastic items from her. Remember, handmade is the most wonderful gift. Support the individual instead of the big box.

On to our meeting shall we. This week I am delighted to introduce you to my friend, Barbara of Butterfly Dreams. Just the name of her blog gives you a little peek into the softness and beauty of her blog.

Barbara also purchased my Winter Wishes pattern. Not only did she make the pillow, but she made the wallhanging as well. Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! It truly makes my day to see my patterns enjoyed and finished by the hands of friends.

Art Imitates Life - Happy Friday!

You've heard that saying before, "art imitates life." Well the other day that saying rang true in Bunnyville.

I was folding up some fabrics to put back in the cupboard when Harrington, (aka Mr. Mischief) came hopping over to investigate.

"Hi mama! I'm cute!"

"Yes Harrington, you are very cute indeed. Now get out of the cupboard so I can put this fabric away."

"But I don't want to get out of the cupboard. How about you hurry up and put those fabrics in here, like now, so I can dig at them and fling them all over the place?"

"On second thought, now I can see up here!"
"Harrington, would you please get down from there!" Children...

What happened next made me laugh so hard as images hopped into my head. You see, I'm a Huge fan of artist, Susan Pilotto of Crowsnest Pass Primitive Folk Art and her blog, Mouse Droppings. Susan creates the most adorable, whimsical and down right charming creatures from wool. I love her bunny pinkeeps and one day I will have one!

So when Harrington did this...

These images from Susan's blog hopped into my head!

So it really is true that "art imitates life."

"That's all fine and dandy Mama, but don't even think about putting pins in my butt! Crazy bunny lady"

Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend and don't forget to register for my giveaway on Sunday! Just scroll down and leave a comment on the post below to register!

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...
